Victoria Falls

Your first 3 nights in Zimbabwe you will be staying at the incredible Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel. The Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel’s unique Moorish design immediately suggests that guests will create memories of a lifetime! Nestled in an amphitheatre of virgin rainforest, it is within walking distance of the town centre (0,5km) and only 2km from The Falls and very close to all the adrenalin-pumping adventure activities available! Enjoy the awesome view at “The Panorama” deck, a unique platform from which to view the magnificent surroundings, including the spectacular vista of “Mosi oa Tunya” “The Smoke that Thunders” as the massive spray of the Victoria Falls is known locally.

The Boma

Your first day at the Falls will include a guided tour of Victoria Falls which is the only waterfall in the world with a length of more than a kilometer and a height of more than hundred meters. It is also considered to be the largest waterfall in the world.  Explore the town of Victoria Falls in the afternoon and that evening you will head to “The Boma”.

The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show is where a four-course meal featuring local dishes, non-stop entertainment including dancers, singers and face painters and an interactive drumming show combine to make this a “must do” Victoria Falls experience

Your next day will be a guided tour to one of the many villages the Zimbabwe Project has partnered with. There you will enjoy some soccer and a tour of a rural school. That afternoon you will enjoy the Zambezi River Cruise to watch the sunset.

Sunset Cruise

A Victoria Falls sunset cruise on the Zambezi River is a must do activity when on safari in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Celebrate the setting African Sun as you cruise the Zambezi River in luxury. First you will cruise downstream towards the Victoria Falls. From here you will be able to see the spray of the Victoria Falls. You will then cruise upstream to catch the sun setting over the Zambezi River. Be sure not to miss the fantastic photo opportunities as a Victoria Falls sunset is one of the best you will ever witness.

Hwange Safari Lodge

You will spend one night at the Hwange Safari Lodge situated in a national park. The lodge is 3.4 kms from the Painted Dog Research Center and within 20 kms of the Hwange National Park and Railway Recreation Center.  Nyamandhlovu Platform is 22.4 kms away.  The lodge features 2 restaurants, an outdoor pool, a bar/lounge and free Wi-Fi in public areas.

The Hide Safari Camp

The Hide Safari Camp was sited in one of Hwange National Park’s prime wildlife areas over twenty years ago. We have distilled the essence of the safari experience and embellished it with our own distinctive style. Hwange was once the royal hunting ground of Ndebele kings and has long been known for its abundant and diverse wildlife.

In particular, the park is known for herds of elephant and buffalo numbering in the hundreds. This is one of the best places to see lion, leopard and African wild dog among the hundred or so other mammal and four hundred bird species.

We understand that you come to Africa first and foremost to encounter the continents natural beauty.  At The Hide we are passionate about nature; we have built on our superb location and extensive knowledge of the park with the best expert guides so that you can experience the true wilderness and wildlife Hwange has to offer.

Whether on a drive to one of Hwange’s game-rich pans, on foot within our private concession or sleeping out in the Dove’s Nest, there is never a dull moment. In fact, the waterhole just metres from The Hide attracts such a variety of life that you may not need to roam far from your verandah to be a part of the action.

What People Are Saying

“This trip changes you forever! You are not the same person coming home that you were when you left a month earlier.”

— STEWY STUART

“My trip to Zimbabwe was amazing! Our group of 10 visited remote villages, orphanages, schools, boreholes (water wells), followed up on previously funded chicken and pig projects, tree growing projects, and services, and experienced some very “different” church services. Not to mention many beautiful African animals!”

— Sandie Hoberg

“The children sat on mats on the rough cement floor while we put new sheets & lovely quilts on their new beds that our group made. The children were in awe as they touched new quilts we had sewing in Vernon. One girl in particular I remember sitting on her bed not really believing it was hers. She was 14.”

— HELEN REGIER

“It’s hard to put into words how much it means to these people that someone across the world took the time to come and see them. Knowing someone out there cares about them gives them the greatest gift, hope.”

— VICKI PROULX

“It was great getting out the the villages to see what was really going on with the people. I’m looking forward to going with the Zimbabwe Project again to see how the projects are going.”

— RODNEY SNIDER

“On a trip to Zimbabwe, you will see that a little hand up can make an enormous difference in some people lives.”

— STEVE SCOTT
